Another commission I received from Colombia. A fun one to do. The new detail brush I have found to paint the single strands of hair and other details make portraiture so much more enjoyable.

"Great Grandmaster Al Tracy - Head of the Tracy Organization"
I am proud to have studied directly under this great martial artist while on my journey. All of my Black Belt, 1st degree to 10th degree ratings, were sanctioned through his direct teachings.
"Berthe Morisot"
My master copy by Edouard Manet of his sister-in-law Berthe Morisot who was one of the three most influential lady impressionists of that time period.
"My First Horse Portrait"
My lady martial arts student was an avid competitor at rodeos. This was her beloved horse in her competitions.
"La Grande Dame"
I found this matronly dog to be an interesting challenge with massing of the fur as well as the impressionistic rendition of the background flowers.
"Cooper"
"Kathryn"
A classmate from the School of the Ozarks commissioned this portrait of her daughter. I loved the challenge of the feather and her blouse with its lace.

Maltese Royalty
My former high school student requested that I paint a picture of her two fur babies. Here is my rendition. Her comment "Love it"
"Finn"
This is the final version of the little boy Finn. I was happy with the effect of the drools on the lips and the hand. The grandmother was very pleased with the painting.
A Master Copy of the "The Penitent" by W. A. Bouguereau, oil portrait.
I have always loved this painting by William Adolphe Bouguereau (1825 - 1905.) It was a very exciting but challenging painting to copy. Most pictures you see of this has her in black but using Photoshop I was able to extract the true color of her clothing, so in a sense I enhanced his painting to its original colors. This is one for my own permanent collection. Not for sale
A master copy of Jeanne Hébuterne by Amedeo Modigliani.
Another of my Master copies. Amedeo Clemente Modigliani was an Italian painter and sculptor who worked mainly in France. He is known for portraits and nudes in a modern style characterized by a surreal elongation of faces, necks, and figures that were not received well during his lifetime, but later became much sought-after.
Master copy Vermeer
One of the best training grounds for portraiture is to copy one the the Masters. Johannes Vermeer was a Dutch Baroque Period painter who specialized in domestic interior scenes of middle-class life. He is considered one of the greatest painters of the Dutch Golden Age along with Rembrandt. One of his most celebrated paintings is the "Girl with the Pearl Earring." This is my master copy.
